Abington Station started out life in 2009 as AKRA, from the initials of our founding members. Our music reflects a cross-spectrum of genres from alt-country, folk, and blues; to guitar, piano and organ-driven rock; to reggae & calypso with a rockin' edge. You'll even find a rollicking polka on our new album!
Our music is high-energy yet accessible, so whatever your mood or tastes, there’s something to love on our first album, Road Trippin, and our latest release, Brothers Of Different Mothers. So dive in!
Influences include The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Blue Rodeo, Rodney Crowell, Deep Purple, Dr. John, Little Feat, The Black Crows, and of course, The Beatles and The Stones.
Abington Station is Aldis Berzins (lead and rhythm guitars); Andris Paza (vocals, 12-string guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and congas); Rich Skulte (bass, guitar, and vocals); Kurt Sodee (drums, percussion, and occasional shouts); Roger Stone (piano, organ, synthesizers, and vocals).
Fun Fact: 3 of our 5 members are Latvian-American.
